The Philippine Consulate General is once again inviting all Filipinos and Filipino-Americans to a webinar on the Philippine Bureau of Treasury’s 27th Tranche of Retail Treasury Bonds (RTB27). The webinar aims to inform participants about RTBs as part of the Philippine government’s savings mobilization program designed to make government securities accessible to retail investors. RTB27 is a 5.5 year, low-risk, fixed-income investment, which provides interest on a quarterly basis. Proceeds from the issuance will be directed to emergency, recovery and resiliency funds, in support of the country's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Resource speakers from the Bureau of Treasury, Development Bank of the Philippines and Landbank of the Philippines will discuss the RTBs, terms of the offering and procedures to invest in the present Tranche. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) via Zoom. The Zoom Meeting is accessible through the following link: http://bit.ly/RTB27Roadshow. The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines is spearheading the establishment of an Artist Database, which will contain the contact details (telephone/mobile number and or email address) of Filipino and Filipino-American artists based overseas in Southern California, Southern Nevada and Arizona. The purpose of this Database is to make the information readily available to other Philippine Foreign Service Posts (i.e. Embassies or Consulates General) in various parts of the world that may be interested in organizing collaborative projects with you. Using the Database, Foreign Service Posts that may be in receipt of inquiries regarding Filipino artists based in other countries for purposes of establishing linkages for possible projects may also make the appropriate referrals. For its part, the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles will utilize the Database to collaborate with participating artists in future projects with a view to raising the profile and visibility of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans with the American general public. In this regard, interested artists are invited to provide the requested information by accomplishing the online Google form accessible through the following link: Click Here: LAPCG Artist Database The Consulate General conveys its appreciation in advance to all artists under its jurisdiction for their participation and looks forward to collaborating and generating useful collaborations for and with you through the Artist Database. Singer-songwriter OLIVIA RODRIGO graces one of the magazine covers of Variety's Power of Young Hollywood issue. The other two cover issues include Lil Nas X and Thomas Doherty. One of the leading business entertainment industry trade magazines, Variety highlights talent from today’s 25-and-under set making an impact in the entertainment industry. Rodrigo's record-shattering debut single, "drivers license" and album, "Sour" (written by Rodrigo and producer Dan Nigro, recorded in isolation during the COVID-19 lockdown) landed her on the list. Of the fifty-three young listmakers chosen by Variety, two other Filipina American entertainers are featured as well. Positioned at #32, content creator and singer BELLA POARCH (24) created the most-liked TikTok video in 2020 and is the most followed woman of color on the app with 77 million-plus followers. She signed a deal with Warner Records ahead of her debut single “Build a Bitch,” the music video for which earned 75 million views in its first week alone. It became the biggest debut ever for a new artist on YouTube and led to a Billboard Hot 100 ranking. Poarch’s online presence made her a target for trolls who left comments encouraging suicide. “I felt like I was back in school being bullied,” says Poarch, “but after a certain point I realized none of it matters.” Positioned at #41, actor and musician HAILEE STEINFELD (24) shot to fame with an Oscar nomination for ”True Grit” and hasn’t slowed since. Returning to this list, her current projects include the Disney Plus series ”Hawkeye” and the third season of the Apple TV Plus series ”Dickinson” in which she acts and executive produces. Known for playing roles that embody strong female characters, Steinfeld appreciates ”playing girls who are strong and witty and skilled, but have to work for all of that, which, at the end of the day, is relatable.” Recently, she’s branched into other business ventures and created a capsule collection with Frankies Bikinis and co-founded the eyewear brand Prive Revaux.
