
Ted Benito has been an executive producer / director for over 20 years.
He has produced and directed live events, concerts, theatrical plays and musicals at venues such as the John Anson Ford Theatre, the Los Angeles Theater Center, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kirk Douglas Theater as part of Center Theatre Group, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and at the Hollywood Bowl where he and Apl.de.ap drew over 14,000 for the first ever concert featuring Filipino and Filipino-American talent. And, he has worked with artists such as Lea Salonga, Lou Diamond Phillips, Martin Nievera, Tia Carrere, director/producer Dean Devlin and Tamlyn Tomita, to name a few.
He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Apl.de.ap Foundation International working with one of the founding members of the Black Eyed Peas to help children and kids in the Philippines through education. He previously served as a Board Member for the Search to Involve Pilipino Americans as well as the ABS-CBN Foundation International.
He is a special contributor to “So Jannelle”, the lifestyle program featuring host Jannelle So on TFC which has afforded him the opportunity to cover the Golden Globes red carpet and backstage press room in 2018 ad 2019.
He was appointed by former California Governor Jerry Brown as a commissioner to the California Volunteers Commission which oversees the Americorps programming in California.
He is working on several projects for 2020 including a few films, a special concert with AJ Rafael for the L.A. Phil and on a very special celebration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines coming to the West Coast in October. And, in his spare time, he serves as an advisor to the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Hollywood…..
