The film is directed by Jay Chandrasekhar (best known for Super Troopers and its sequel).
This is the first Filipino American feature length film with a majority cast of Filipino descent with an Asian American crew. It is also the first Filipino American feature film to be produced by four major Hollywood studios: Amblin Entertainment, DreamWorks Pictures, Rideback Ranch and Universal Pictures. It will be distributed theatrically in the U.S. and the world by Universal.
Set around a family gathering to celebrate Easter Sunday, the comedy is based on Jo Koy's life experiences and stand-up comedy. Actor/comedian Joe Valencia (Jo Koy) and his son Junior (Brandon Wardell) attend a family Easter celebration.
